My Contract/Policies

We operate a State and City licensed daycare business. We meet state safety, health and nutrition standards. Taking care of children is our choice of professions. We love caring for children, watching them grow and become attached to the other children in care. They are a delight to us.

My hours are 6 am to 7:00 pm. I don’t mind working with each parent’s schedules. I primarily oversee the daycare Monday through Friday from 7am to 6pm. When I am not on site, my daughter is available and we are both licensed providers. If scheduling problems occur, please call me. I run errands, and plan off-site activities based on scheduled arrival times and school bus runs. It is easy to be here if I know when you are going to be dropping off and picking up your child. If you arrive, and I am not here, call me, and I will be happy to tell you where we are, and when we will arrive.

We provide breakfast, lunch and snacks. You do not need to (although you may) bring extra food. If you do bring a snack or treat, make sure there is enough for all the children. No gum or hard candy. They will be taken away, as they are both choking hazards.

I have locked cabinets, safety locks, socket covers, safety gates, smoke detectors/fire extinguishers, and hold fire drills with the kids. The yard is fenced --we keep the gate closed at all times. This is for the safety of your child as well as others in my care. The kids are not allowed outside the fence or outside my front door unless you or I are with them. Please do not have your child go outside the door (not even to your vehicle) without you.

Cleanliness is important to me. Children will be encouraged to wash their hands often. I disinfect plastic toys regularly, toys that are put in mouths, daily. My blankets, pillows and other soft toys are washed weekly.

Utah State Law requires that you provide documentation of your child's immunization and update this record yearly. When you go to the Dr. ask for a copy to bring to me, please
. Every time the State licensor shows up (randomly and unannounced) she checks these records. When they are not up to date, my license is in jeopardy.

Please keep children home if they are throwing up or have a fever. If your child become sick during the day, you will be expected to pick them up. Until you arrive, the sick child will be kept separate from other children.

Medication cannot be administered without written consent. There is a state approved form for this. I cannot give any medication with verbal consent.
Procedure for fire: take all children outside and call 911.
Procedure for earthquake: take children to a safe area (under kitchen table), wait until the earthquake has calmed down, call 911 if needed.
Procedure if power failure in home: use alternative power.
Procedure if water failure in home: call utilities, use emergency water.
Location for emergency shut off of gas: down stairs bathroom or outside (central)
Location for emergency shut off of electricity: Central by stairs
Location for emergency shut off of water: Front yard, under all sinks (kitchen and bathrooms)

Diapers, clothing Supplies that can be left here include, diapers, wipes, pacifiers, bottles, formula, baby food (until child eats table food) bibs, sunscreen a blanket, pillow  for nap, toothbrush, tooth paste  and a complete change of clothes. Please mark your child's name on all supplies and clothes . Bring child appropriately dressed for the day in play clothes. Bring weather appropriate outerwear. The children will play outside all year round, weather permitting (not raining, not snowing and temperature above  20%) Please make sure that your children have the appropriate clothing to make them comfortable for current weather conditions, This should include boots, gloves, hats, coats & pants.  Do not bring toys to daycare. You may bring a blanket for nap time. If your child has a security toy (i.e, stuffed animal or other ‘love’) let me know, and we can work it out.

Hours of Operation & Holidays
Our operating hours are 6:00 AM to 9:00 PM unless special arrangements are made
we close at 9:00 PM.
HOLIDAY POLICY Even if you do not bring you child to me on a legal holiday, payment is still due for that day. According to state regulations providing holiday guidelines for Family Daycare Homes we are closed during the following:
You have not been billed for these days: weekend, New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, 4th and 24th July, my personal vacation (5 days on Summer), labor day, Thanksgiving day, December 24 th - January 1st

I depend on daycare income as you depend on yours to pay bills. There is no refund for sick days or early pick ups. Holidays and my vacation mentioned above are paid. Each calendar year, a family may take a week (5 days) of vacation billed at half the regular rate, to save your place in the daycare. Other vacations will be billed as usual. I will provide a substitute on occasions when it is necessary for me to be gone for short periods of time, or if I become sick. Please understand that you will need to have a back-up sitter in case of emergency and my personal vacations. You will not be required to pay for my sick absences. Basically, your weekly (or otherwise scheduled) paid amount will not vary unless I am absent.

Payment is due on the FIRST business day of the month . If the first day of the month falls on a weekend, payment will be on the preceding Friday. Any payment received after due date will subject to a late fee. Please come prepared to pay your invoice at either drop-off or pick-up time. Please pay when expected. We ask each family to commit to a pay date, which is flexible in that we are able to work with work paydays.  There will be a $15.00 fee assessed for late payment. Payment is late if paid after the due date. An additional $2.50 per day will be assessed if payment is not received  within two business days following the due date.  In the case of partial payments, a late fee of $1,00 per day will be assessed until the payment is made in full. Services will be subject to suspension if payment is not received within five business days of the due date. Any exceptions to this policy will be made at the discretion of the management based on the clients need and their diligence in resolving the issue at hand. There will be a $25.00 charge for any returned checks. In addition, make up payment must be made within 48 hrs.  of notice in the form of cash or money order or services may be suspended. You are contracting for full day or partial slots on a monthly basis. If you choose to take days off or you or your child are unfortunately ill and choose not to attend, there will be no reimbursement for these days.  I look forward to paydays as much as you do. If there is a problem, let me know as soon as possible. I accept checks, and cash. I also have a pay pal account. Checks are accepted until one does not clear, and then it is cash only.
If you decide to remove your child I will  need to have a 4 week written notice from the first day of the month.  If you need to take your child out for illness, vacation time, maternity leave etc. you will need to let me know if it is going to be more than 4 weeks you will be required to pay 1/2 his/her normal monthly rate to hold his/her spot. If I do not receive her/his payment and I have not heard from you that the money is coming I could end of giving his/her spot away to another child love my daycare and all the children in it. I can’t imagine any other kind of work. Your children are wonderful and I enjoy talking with parents. I hope if you have any questions, you feel free to ask and I will do my best to work with you and make your child's experience in my child care a happy one.
